Deities. According to the Chinese legend, these are 3 deities that will bring one longevity, prosperity and fortune. One typically sees these 3 deities together and appear very frequently in Chinese homes. The one featured in this photo is the god of longevity (shou xing).
May you 'live long and prosper' - Star Trek.
Have a great evening.

Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And everything you do
Yeah, they were all yellow.
I came along,
I wrote a song for you,
And all the things you do
And it was called "Yellow."
So then I took my turn,
Oh what a thing to've done,
And it was all yellow.
Your skin
Oh yeah, your skin and bones,
Turn into something beautiful,
Do you know?
You know I love you so,
You know I love you so.

There is an altar enshrining the Ōwakudani Enmei-Jizoson (guardian deity of longevity) which was made by the monk Kobodaishi who hoped to save the people suffering from volcanic disasters.
I don't see the Altar, but here I really see the presence of a spirit of the mountain Kami.
I also read of "Kuro-Tamago (black eggs)" .
It is said that every egg a person eats will prolong his/her life by seven years.
Wow !!! If I go there every 5 years I can live for ever !!! :D :D :D

The Welcoming Guest Pine (Yingkesong), Mount Tai (Taishan), Shandong Province
Trees command great respect in Chinese traditional culture: enormous, gnarled ancient pines, cypresses and junipers are appreciated as potent symbols of longevity and endurance and are usually worshipped and well cared for in temples, ancient palace grounds and parks. Qi enthusiasts gather energy from these trees and if a centuries old tree dies it is seldom cut down but used as a support for other plants, such as wisteria, to cling to.
The pine (song, Lat. Pinus) is the tree most dear to the Chinese heart: it can live over a thousand years, withstand bitter wind and weather and remain green all the year round. Together with the plum (Lat. Prunus mume) and bamboo, it is one of the Three Friends of Winter (suihan sanyou). These represent unending friendship that can withstand any hardship. Pines are also commonly planted around graves as a talisman to protect against Wang Xiang, an evil monster who enjoys eating the brains of the dead. The pine shown here (a Chinese Red Pine, Lat. Pinus tabuliformis) has been welcoming pilgrims to the holy Daoist mountain Taishan for more than 500 years. It stands beside the path (of over 6,000 steps) that leads to the summit, with its outstretched arms encouraging the visitor to complete the hard climb to the top. ©Ingrid Booz Morejohn
